BREAKING: Isaac Paredes Gets Engaged Amid Trade Rumors – His Future with the Astros is Uncertain, His Personal Life Flourishes!.y1

HOUSTON – While his future at Houston remains uncertain, two-time All-Star Isaac Paredes delivered a momentous occasion off the court: he officially proposed to his longtime girlfriend Paulina Quiroz on a paradise beach and received an emotional “yes.”

Amidst speculation about a potential trade, Paredes chose to write the most beautiful chapter of his life. One hand wearing the ring, the other preparing for the new season – and possibly a completely different journey with the Houston Astros.

On Thursday night, Paredes caused a stir on social media by posting a series of engagement photos on Instagram. The nighttime beach setting, the twinkling lights, and the sparkling ring marked a major turning point in his life. Quiroz wrote emotionally in Spanish:

“Yes and a thousand times yesss 💍🥹… Yes to a whole life by your side…”

Houston Astros' Isaac Paredes is engaged to his girlfriend

Just a month earlier, the couple had also revealed they were expecting a baby boy in July. Good news followed good news, making this offseason the most transformative period in Paredes’ personal life.

Notably, this wasn’t the first time Paredes had publicly revealed his relationship. He proposed to Quiroz last May and announced wedding plans for October – although that post was later deleted. Additionally, Paredes has a daughter named Susuki from a previous marriage.

But amidst the light of their love, dark clouds still hang over his career.

Last season, when Paredes suffered a hamstring injury and was placed on the injured list, the Astros made a shocking trade: bringing Carlos Correa back to Houston to take over the third base position.

Now, Correa has a contract until 2028 and is almost certain to be the starting third baseman. This puts Paredes – a familiar third baseman – in a difficult position.

To avoid salary disputes, Paredes agreed to a one-year contract worth $9.35 million for the 2026 season. This figure reflects his value, but also shows that the Astros haven’t yet committed long-term.

In an effort to keep Jose Altuve healthy throughout the season, the coaching staff plans to experiment with Paredes at second base during Spring Training. This may be the only way for him to continue appearing regularly in the lineup.

However, the trade rumors haven’t subsided.

General Manager Dana Brown recently hinted that the team “isn’t done yet” after trading Jesús Sánchez for Joey Loperfido.

That message was a ticking time bomb among fans. The Astros are lacking quality left-handed hitters – and Paredes, while effective, hasn’t solved that problem.

Last season, he impressed with his extended at-bats, 11.9% walk percentage, and .809 OPS. He’s not a loud slugger, but he’s a player who knows how to pressure the pitcher and maintain a stable offensive tempo.

May be an image of flower and wedding

Therefore, he’s a tempting commodity if the Astros want to trade him to balance their roster.

Could 2026 be the year of total change? A wedding, a baby – and maybe a new city?

In professional sports, personal milestones often coincide with career turning points. Paredes is caught between two paths: family stability and career instability.

The Astros remain a title contender. However, Correa’s long-term presence in third base and the rotation plan make Paredes’ future less certain.

If Houston finds a suitable partner, they could potentially turn him into a strategic asset to add a left-handed bat or increase pitching depth.

However, the possibility of the Astros keeping him cannot be ruled out. With his defensive versatility and strike zone control, Paredes remains a crucial piece in their quest to defend their championship ambitions.

Perhaps that’s why, amidst the whirlwind of rumors, he remains silent and focuses on Spring Training.

Big questions remain. But in the arms of his fiancée, he has the clearest answers to his life.

Isaac Paredes may not know which team he’ll be playing for later this year. But he knows for sure who will be by his side.

Amidst the turbulent MLB arena, the deals and strategies, the moment he knelt on the beach revealed a very different Paredes – not the star rumored to be in a trade, but a man preparing to start a family.

And sometimes, in sports as in life, the most important “contract signings” don’t happen in the boardroom – but under the starry sky on the beach.
