The project is being implemented in Maracay, his birthplace in Aragua state, Venezuela. This is an area where many families have faced a lack of clean water for years. According to reports, Altuve and his wife decided to invest approximately $2.5 million to build a water filtration system and community wells for impoverished neighborhoods.

The project includes over 20 clean water stations, each capable of providing approximately 50,000 liters of water per day. When the entire system is operational, the total amount of clean water supplied to the community could reach over 1 million liters per day, directly serving approximately 12,000–15,000 people in the area.

For many local residents, this is a landmark change.

For years, many families in Maracay had to walk kilometers to fetch water from unsanitary sources. Children frequently suffered from waterborne illnesses, and access to clean water was always a luxury.

But with this new project, their lives could change.

According to volunteers involved in the project, Altuve and his wife not only funded the project but also directly participated in the design and implementation of the system. They worked with non-profit organizations and local engineers to ensure the water system would operate sustainably for many years.

A member of the project team shared that Altuve is particularly concerned about ensuring children in his neighborhood have access to clean drinking water.
