Houston – In an unsurprising result that still sent the city of Houston into a frenzy, Jose Altuve was once again named the Astros’ Favorite Player in a large poll conducted by Houston Sports Poll. With over 68% of the votes, “El Pequeño Gigante” continues to solidify his enduring place in the hearts of fans after exactly 15 years with the Astros.

The poll, conducted from May 15th to May 30th, 2026, with the participation of over 42,000 Astros fans, officially announced its results this morning. Jose Altuve not only took the lead but also significantly surpassed other strong contenders such as Yordan Alvarez (18%) and Christian Walker (7%).

Upon receiving the announcement, Altuve – currently excelling in the 2026 season – emotionally shared at Minute Maid Park:
“Fifteen years have flown by. I still vividly remember the first day I stepped in here as a 21-year-old boy from Venezuela. The Houston fans have given me a second family.

This honor is not just for me, but for everyone who has been with me through the toughest days.”
